It is the first day of March in a leap year!! And still, the remnants of Winter remain. During this transitional phase, warm sunny days are mixed with cold rainy moments as the Earth moves in her cyclical shifting pattern. Mother Nature continues to be our best teacher as she adapts and moves forward, mirroring our own Life pivots and shifts. We acknowledge the quiet phase of Winter for surely it is a reminder of the trust and faith we have that Spring will appear. These seasonal patterns reflect life lessons in persistence, patience, and promise. The message of this ‘in-between’ time continues to be: slow down, get quiet, and prioritize deep rest to support your own Spring renewal. continue reading
Trauma can be emotional or physical and carries a weight with it for those who suffer from a traumatic event and the longer post-traumatic stress that can come from it. Fortunately, we live in a time where help is available. The Winter season is filled with holiday celebration, always depicted with joyful gatherings highlighting family, friends and togetherness. We mark the calendars, counting the days ‘til the end of the year, as we check off items on our to-do lists, many times with equal measure of excitement and exhaustion. Advertisements on TV and social media highlight the “must-have” gift items and there are still cards to write, gifts to wrap, cookies to bake and dinners to plan. So much tradition!
