Dr. Kathy Casey

DACM, L.Ac., Dipl. OM, C.Ht.

Dr. Kathy Casey is a Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine, a licensed acupuncturist in New York and Connecticut, a board-certified herbalist, and maintains a Diplomate of Oriental Medicine certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine (NCCAOM).  Dr. Kathy graduated from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine/NYC, an esteemed academic leader providing comprehensive instruction in both Chinese and Western Medicine, where she earned her Master of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine after completing 4 years and 4,050 hours of combined classroom study and supervised clinical rotations while treating over 300 patients.  Dr. Kathy achieved her doctoral status through Pacific College of Oriental Medicine/San Diego (now known as Pacific College of Health and Science) with a focus on utilizing food therapy, mindfulness, herbal medicine, journaling, and hypnotherapy to promote and support female health, especially cardiovascular and autoimmune disorders.

Dr. Kathy is also a Certified Hypnotherapist, accredited since 1992, and a member of the International Association of Counselors and Therapists.  She has extensive training and experience in Therapeutic Touch, an energetic healing modality developed in the 1970’s through the pioneering work of Dolores Krieger, PhD, RN, a professor of Nursing at New York University, in collaboration with Dora Kunz, a natural healer.  A trained Acudetox Specialist through the National Acupuncture Detoxification Association (NADA), Dr. Kathy also uses acupuncture to support behavioral health, including chemical dependencies, addictive behaviors, mental health, as well as treat disaster and emotional trauma.

While Dr. Kathy currently maintains a general practice and treats a wide variety of syndromes, she has a special interest in women’s health, digestive disorders, stress management, and mental and emotional health. Her passion for the ancient healing arts sustains her patient-centered clinical practice focused on recovering health and maintaining wellness with preventative care.
