Berry Chia Pudding Recipe

This Berry Chia Pudding is not only a delicious and satisfying breakfast, but it also provides a host of benefits that align with the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Chia seeds are rich in omega-3 fatty acids, fiber, and antioxidants, making them a great food to nourish Kidney Yin. In TCM, Kidney Yin is essential for maintaining balance and vitality, particularly during the warmer months when the body tends to lose moisture more quickly. The hydrating properties of chia seeds help to counteract this imbalance, promoting overall well-being.

The addition of mixed berries (such as strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries) further enhances this dish. Berries are known to strengthen the Liver and nourish the Blood, both of which are important for supporting energy flow and vitality. The cooling effect of berries also makes them ideal for the spring and summer seasons when heat and excess Yang are more prevalent.

Honey, with its sweet and warming properties, is included in the recipe to support Spleen Qi and aid in digestion. In TCM, the Spleen is the organ responsible for transforming food into energy, and a healthy Spleen is essential for maintaining strong digestion and overall vitality. The natural sweetness of honey in this pudding not only enhances its flavor but also has a soothing effect on the digestive system.

This cooling and refreshing pudding is a perfect way to nourish your body while also promoting hydration, digestion, and balanced energy. It can be enjoyed during the warmer months to cool the body and promote internal harmony.
