Dr. Kathy Casey, DACM, L.Ac., CHt.
Dr. Kathy Casey is a graduate of Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in NYC/San Diego and holds a doctorate in Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture. She is also a Certified Integrative Hypnotist and Integrated Life Coach/Change Worker, accredited with the International Association of Counselors and Therapists. Her healing practice is guided by the inspiration of “Anam Cara.” Translated from Irish Gaelic, the combined words ‘anam’ meaning soul and ‘cara’ meaning friend, referring to an inspired spirited connection as a teacher, companion, or spiritual guide along the earth life journey. Kathy has a special interest in women’s health, digestive disorders, autoimmune syndromes, stress management, and emotional health, and uses acupuncture, herbal medicine, nutritional therapy, mindfulness, journaling, and hypnotherapy to promote and support health at all stages of life.

Fun Fact: Kathy is the oldest of 8 children, is an avid genealogist, loves gardening, and is writing a book about her medicine dog Max.
Dr. Yael Markowicz, DACM, L.Ac.
Dr. Yael Markowicz is a graduate of the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine. While attending school, she also completed a yoga teacher training, became a licensed massage therapist and a certified Doula with DONA International. She utilizes acupuncture, herbal consultations, body work, and nutritional counseling to support her patient’s health and well-being. Dr. Yael Markowicz incorporates her knowledge of yoga and meditation in order to provide her patients with the right tools they need to achieve optimal health. She specializes in women’s health and fertility, pregnancy, postpartum as well as orthopedic, autoimmune, and digestive issues.

Fun Fact: She has two kids, speaks 4 languages, is a trained luthier, enjoys traveling, photography, practicing yoga, and taking nice long walks by the beach.
Kat Palmieri, MS
Kat Palmieri is the office manager and social media coordinator at Touchstone Acupuncture. Kat holds a masters degree in nutrition from the National University of Natural Medicine and is currently completing her clinical internship to become a Certified Nutrition Specialist (CNS). Her approach integrates food as medicine, mindful practices, and a deep connection to Mother Earth. Just as soil needs to be nourished to support the growth of healthy plants, the human body needs to be fed with nutritious food in order to maintain its own health and well-being. She believes in the power of nourishing our bodies with whole, nutrient-dense foods and in the transformative powers of movement, breathwork, and sound meditation.

Fun Fact: Kat is also a multidisciplinary artist. She loves creating interactive art experiences and once built a giant, colorful xylophone, which was played by viewers’ shoes, that toured a number of arts festivals.
Dr. Valentina Duque, DACM, L.Ac., LMT
For Dr. Valentina Duque, a native of Colombia, sports and exercise have always been integral parts of her life. After sustaining a lower back injury playing soccer, Dr. Duque realized that alternative treatments such as massage and acupuncture enabled her to fully heal while alleviating her pain. This experience sparked her interest in human anatomy and physiology and a passion for improving the quality of life of her patients. After receiving her Master of Science in Traditional Chinese Medicine, Valentina practiced in clinics that focused on pain management and orthopedic conditions. Valentina has served a broad spectrum of clients over the years, from professional athletes to hospitalized patients in palliative care to indigenous peoples during medical expeditions to Guatemala, all of whom she treats with equal attention and compassion. Dr. Duque’s experiences with patients frequently affirm to her that she is on the correct path as a healer.
